Be careful, I cut my thumb in several places, not knowing it, you don’t feel it blade is thin, by stupidly placing my thumb on the back as a brace on the blade. Thumb, GPS coated in blood.

Why would you do this, thick stubborn plastic that refuses to budge on the GPS, and it’s some what natural, especially when you tunnel vision of the seams, wondering where you need to go, trying to figure out exactly where you need to work on. You get lost in the moment. I would suggest gloves.

That said, keep all your fingers on the plastic, I was finally able to open a Garmin GPS. It’s has thick plastic and just too many of those plastic catches you have to pry open. Watching YouTube is so, so easy. Not so in reality.

I couldn’t get any of those plastic pry tools original in, this device opened up the seams enough to cramp in a cut up credit card, then the plastic pry tools, back to this tool along the seam, repeating on all 4 sides.

So, if you can just use this tool only to open devices, you have my envy, those YouTube videos are amazing. My guess is especially a Garmin GPS, it’s been opened many times, weakening the catches.

To repeat myself...
It’s thin, not exactly sharp, seems strong, but thin enough to cut you, so no touching the metal, use it to get a seam open, wedge it, use plastic pry tools, repeat.

I do think it is slightly overpriced. Impossible to find local.

Ranting now about products that seem designed to keep the owner from making simple repairs.
The user experience....

It took me an hour to get that Garmin open, over two days, somethings it’s best to walk away from it, it had four screws and then when you add in all those little thick strong tabs it’s absolutely obscene that manufacturers produce something like this. Four corners screws and then maybe a locking tab contact on each side in the middle would’ve sufficed and made replacement of a ratty manufacturers battery a lot easier.

With all the plying it didn’t scar or scratched the GPS that I can tell, or would bother me.

Who puts a 550 mah battery in something like a GPS, it would only run, if you were lucky, about 5 minutes, the battery taped in, not holding, loose inside.

Replaced it with a 1,100 mah. I have no idea why the original battery was so bad, but the new one seems to last at least 30 minutes plus.

Telling me something about the original battery?
