Cellulose ethers have excellent properties such as thickening, water retention, and retardation, and are therefore widely used to improve and optimize the performance of building materials products including pre-mixed mortar (including wet-mixed mortar and dry-mixed mortar), PVC resin manufacturing, latex paint, putty, tile adhesive, insulation mortar, flooring materials, etc., making them compliant with energy conservation, environmental protection and other requirements, improving construction efficiency for building and decoration, and indirectly applied to the construction of various types of construction projects such as masonry and plastering, and interior and exterior wall decoration. Due to the large investment scale and various types of construction projects in the field of construction engineering, scattered and different construction progress, building-level cellulose ethers have the characteristics of wide range of use, large market demand, and scattered customer base.

In the middle-to-high-end grade of building-grade HPMC, building-grade HPMC with a gel temperature of 75°C is mainly used in the field of dry-mixed mortar, etc. It has strong resistance to high temperature and good application effect. Its application performance cannot be replaced by building-grade HPMC with a gel temperature of 60°C. High-end customers have higher requirements for the quality stability of this type of product. At the same time, there is a certain technical difficulty in producing HPMC with a gel temperature of 75°C. The investment scale of production equipment is relatively large, the threshold for entry is high, and the selling price of the product is significantly higher than that of building-grade HPMC with a gel temperature of 60°C.

Although the amount of HPMC added is small and its proportion of production cost is low, the product has good application effects, so its quality requirements are high.
