I, too, was amazed at how the smell is different from ordinary RTV silicone (which releases acetic acid (vinegar) when hardening). To me, this stuff smells like formaldehyde. On the other hand, the concentration of the odor is low, but it lingers much longer. That said, ignore the "no odor" or "low odor" feature, and definitely use it outside. If you use it in the garage or basement or back room, you will have the odor permeating the whole house, and it will stick around for a long time. At lease the acetic acid odor of conventional RTV dissipates quickly. On a positive note, this stuff is really great! It kicks off quickly (within 10 minutes), but still needs overnight to maximum strength. It is crystal clear and tough, and a great deal when you buy the case of 10 tubes. Being able to screw on the tip is not a big deal, though, if you just jam a nail in the end of the tip and stick the partial tube in the refrigerator. It will last pretty much forever that way (although your marriage might not if your wife doesn't see the unique utility of half-full tubes of caulking in the back of her salad drawer).
